After a long offseason, we’re back to break down the tape from week 1 of the new season.
It’s about time someone scouted the players in the Game of Thrones like they were athletes, don’t you think? Well here I am, ready to fill that void. So without further ado, here are my scouting reports from the premiere of Game of Thrones season 7, Dragonstone.
Excellent deception in her delivery combined with stuff that’s quite lethal makes Arya a lot to handle on the mound. She may have some trouble dealing with the middle of the Lannister order, though. The Mountain is bigger than Aaron Judge and at least three times as mean. When he gets ahold of one, it can have skull-crushing consequences.
This player/coach relationship seems strained at best. In this episode, we saw the Jon and Sansa arguing on the court and even saw Sansa try hijack the huddle to draw up a play against the will of her coach. It also appears that the GM from the Vail is making early overtures to lure Sansa to his squad when she becomes a free agent. We’ll see if she’ll be willing to take a hometown discount and stay with team Stark.
Much like LeBron James in 2014, Dany has finally come home. It remains to be seen if she can give Dragonstone the championship the city has been pining for since Robert’s Rebellion. Fans have become particularly vocal after Stannis very nearly won them a crown at the Battle of Blackwater, only to get outcoached in game 7.
