Evergreen United Methodist Church still in recovery after last year’s tornado

APPOMATTOX CO., Va. (WDBJ7) Members of the Evergreen United Methodist Church are still trying to move forward. Parts of the church was destroyed when an EF3 Torndao tore through the community.

The members of Evergreen United Methodist Church have a lot to be thankful. Last year, they didn’t have a sanctuary in which to worship.

“In the sanctuary, it had a lot of debris, a lot of the insulation had fell through. just a lot of damage on the inside of the church,” Ricky Harris of United Methodist Church said.

The church was also mourning the loss of one of its own.

“Keith, he was a long time member of this church. He was the one who rang the bell most every Sunday to tell people it’s time to come to church,” Harris said.
